We offer advanced, state-of-the-art regenerative therapies for
dogs in the form of PRP (platelet rich plasma) and stem cell
therapies. These therapies can be used to help manage arthritis,
treat other orthopedic injuries, and even speed healing in severe
wounds. There is also some promising research about using stem
cells to treat kidney disease and stomatitis in cats in the future.
While these therapies do not “fix” a problem like arthritis, they
can be very beneficial in managing the disease, helping restore
joint health, and making your dog more comfortable without the need
for daily medications. Stem cell and PRP treatments decrease
inflammation and aid in the healing and repair of damaged
tissue.
We utilize the Companion Regenerative Therapies system, which has been independently validated for use in dogs. Both stem cell and PRP therapies are out-patient procedures. For stem cell therapy, the stem cells are collected from your dog’s own bone marrow under anesthesia, processed immediately, and then injected into the joint of concern. For PRP therapy, blood is collected under sedation, processed immediately to concentrate the platelets, and then injected into the joint of concern.
